Wine tasting at home

Our foundation course

Already know a bit about wine? We also run wine masterclasses

"What a fantastic course it's been. David is clearly so passionate about the subject - his enthusiasm is infectious." Lynn McCracken, Brighton

Do you often pick up the latest supermarket special offer without really knowing what's in the bottle - or more importantly, if you'll actually like it! Or do you take a wild guess at the restaurant wine list - crossing your fingers that you're not being over-charged for an average bottle? Like wine, but feel you could know more?

Then our Foundation Course is the perfect introduction - four 2-hour evening sessions held over consecutive weeks of informal and fun wine tasting.

We'll whizz through the basics of swirling and sniffing, so you learn exactly how to determine what's in that bottle. We'll taste from various grape varieties – focusing on the biggies including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.

We'll explain how wine labels are put together - so you can pick confidently in the supermarket and make sure you're getting a good deal as well as something drinkable!

The sessions are interactive (only you can say whether you think a wine tastes good!) so we limit class sizes to 12.

Courses run regularly and we can also run private courses for groups of friends, families or work colleagues.

Cost = £125 per head

We’ve recommended this before but it’s an even better buy whilst on offer. It’s a really crisp, light, dry French wine, with flavours of citrus and white peaches. Try with white fish or soft cheese. 12.5%. Great for Summer drinking so stock up now.
